Three Tigers, One Route: Hear Three Trapped Tigers’ Debut Album Now

Three Trapped Tigers - Route One Or Die

So this afternoon I finally stopped listening to Friendly Fires’ new album on repeat long enough to check out Route One Or Die, the debut album from London three-piece Three Trapped Tigers, courtesy of this stream on NME.com. They really aught to double-check these things before they upload them though, the band are unfortunately mis-named as ‘These Trapped Tigers’ on the magazine’s Soundcloud page…

Anyway, these guys sure know how to mix up their instrumental stylings. There’s the math-rock meets drum ‘n bass of ‘Noise Trade’, hellish HEALTH-esque guitar noise on ‘Creepies’, the twinkling ambiance of ‘Zil’, and penultimate track ‘Magne’ is a slow-building, expansive post-rock tune. If you want to see the band do their thing then they embark on a pretty extensive UK Tour today (with a couple of European dates thrown in there for good measure) – check out their website for more details. Support on all the UK dates comes from another ace three-piece, Tall Ships, and it’s worth noting that the Leeds show on the 25th May is FREE – what better excuse do you need? While you’re there, you can also download the opening track from the album, ‘Cramm’ for the low, low price of nothing – or alternatively, do so via the player below:

Route One Or Die is released on Blood And Biscuits records on the 30th May.
